Before joining the faculty at the Darla Moore School of Business, Julian Dalzell spent 43 years in a variety of roles around the world with the Royal Dutch/Shell group of companies. Starting in line roles in logistics, Dalzell eventually moved into a variety of specialist labor-relations roles in the U.K. before being sent overseas to Brunei. Ten years of specialist roles in recruitment and staff development were followed by a move to the United States to undertake roles as an HR generalist and in executive development. He moved to New Orleans to head up HR for Shell’s Gulf of Mexico operations and then was promoted to Global VPHR for Shell’s Trading Company.
